I am Chantal Anthonis, a self-taught artist from Belgium, living in Greece.
My original, timeless, small-scale and handmade paintings, whether it is abstract, figurative or landscape, represent the journey through my life in Flanders and on the island of Crete, and the incredible people that I’ve got to know along the way.
I paint intuitively and spontaneously, using colour and layers to convey a sense of empathy, charm, mystery, curiosity and a touch of nostalgia.
